The AnalogX NV-83065 Compressor Emulations bring one of the rarest vintage British stereo compressor and limiter designs into Genesis. Originally released in the mid 1980s, this unit evolved from the classic diode bridge compressor lineage while adding a more modern stepped-control workflow for fast, accurate recall.

The result is a compressor that feels vintage, solid, and expensive, but with a slightly more controlled and recall-friendly character than earlier designs. It delivers thick analog weight, smooth gain control, confident transient shaping, and the unmistakable authority of a serious mastering-grade stereo dynamics unit.

This pack includes both compression settings and line stage emulations, giving you access to the full hardware tone whether you want dynamic control or pure analog colour.

A Brief History

The hardware that inspired this pack appeared in the mid 1980s as a rare stereo compressor and limiter developed from earlier vintage British diode bridge designs. It carried forward the thick tone and musical gain reduction associated with classic 2254-style compression, but introduced a more modern layout with two sections and stepped controls for faster recall.

This made the unit especially valuable in professional rooms where engineers needed vintage tone but also needed repeatable settings. Its stereo format, stepped operation, and authoritative compression behaviour made it a highly coveted piece for mastering, mix bus work, drum buses, and serious program material control.

Original units are extremely rare today, which makes the NV-83065 pack a unique opportunity to bring this sound into Genesis without the cost, maintenance, or inconsistency of vintage hardware.

How to Use It in Genesis

Click CAL to ensure your input is calibrated correctly in Genesis.

For compressor emulations, start with the Red Drive at -24. Dial it back for lighter compression, or increase it for more gain reduction, thickness, and dynamic character.

For line stage emulations, start with the Red Drive at unity, around 12 o’clock. Pull it back for a cleaner path, or push it forward for more analog colour, density, and drive.
