AnalogX - Transformer Series 3.0 - Nickel Edition (GENESIS)
Exclusive to Genesis | Modelled at 48k | Powered by our HQ 2 Technology | Calibrated to -18 RMS with the Red Drive at Unity (12 o'clock)
IMPORTANT - Requires GENESIS v2.1.0 or higher for True Stereo profiles to load and for the emulations to run on GPU
Pure Transformer Saturation with Clarity and Edge:
The AnalogX Transformer Series 3.0 - Nickel Edition brings the sound of the Nickel transformer path into Genesis, rebuilt using our HQ 2 Technology for clarity, speed, upper-mid articulation, and refined analog colour.
As the final part of the Transformer Series trilogy, Nickel Edition focuses on the most open and articulate side of the Flux transformer concept. Where other transformer voices lean more into weight or body, Nickel is especially useful when you want presence, transient definition, and shimmer without losing musical balance.
This pack also includes free Mag 2 compressor settings, giving you not only the transformer path on its own, but additional dynamic settings that show how the Nickel character behaves inside the wider processor design.
What’s Inside
This pack includes transformer emulations based on the Nickel path, along with free Mag 2 compressor settings.
Included emulations:
MAG_NICKEL_2.1_TIME_6_HQ_v2.gen
MAG_NICKEL_2.1_TIME_7_6_HQ_v2.gen
MAG_NICKEL_HOT_6_HQ_v2.gen
MAG_NICKEL_LOW_6_HQ_v2.gen
MAG_NICKEL_MAX_6_HQ_v2.gen
The LOW, HOT, and MAX emulations cover the core transformer drive range, from subtle harmonic lift through to fuller and more assertive analog saturation.
The TIME-labelled emulations extend the pack with free Mag 2 compressor settings, giving you additional dynamic behaviour and a broader sense of how the Nickel path contributes inside the complete hardware workflow.
Together, these emulations make Nickel Edition more than a simple transformer pack, giving you a focused but flexible analog colour toolkit.
A Brief History
The Nickel transformer sound comes from the Flux section of a modern German analog processor designed to bring tape-like behaviour and transient shaping into a more flexible studio format. Official descriptions of the hardware explain that the different Flux modes, Eisen, Kobalt, and Nickel, use different transformer-based analog approaches to mimic different saturation and transient-rounding behaviours.
Independent reviews of the unit consistently describe Nickel as the clearest and most open of the three modes, particularly useful when a source needs more articulation, transient definition, and upper-frequency presence without becoming harsh or overly thick. That makes it especially effective on vocals, percussion, stereo buses, and sources that need polish rather than sheer density.
That is what gives Nickel its identity. It is not simply a brighter transformer, but a more refined and articulate one. The Nickel Edition preserves that character in Genesis, while the included Mag 2 compressor settings expand it into a wider, more mix-ready set of options.
How to Use It in Genesis
Click CAL to ensure the input is calibrated correctly in Genesis. Start with the Red Drive at the 12 o'clock position, back it off for less saturation or increase it to increase harmonics.
