Use the matched Left and Right files for separate mono channels, or load the True Stereo master-bus versions for an instant full-width console finish.
A Brief History
The console that inspired this collection belongs to the celebrated late-1970s British in-line console era. Introduced during 1976–77, this generation combined large-format recording capability with an in-line monitoring workflow that made complex sessions faster and more practical.
Its channel design developed the musical preamp and EQ philosophy that had already become a studio standard, adding broader tone-shaping flexibility while retaining the weight, forward midrange and controlled top end associated with classic British console recordings. These desks became prized not simply for individual channels, but for the cumulative effect of routing an entire production through their channel, group and master stages.
That cumulative character is the point of this Genesis expansion: subtle variation across tracks, controlled density through groups, and a master-bus finish that ties the whole mix together.
Why It Stands Out
How to Use It in Genesis
Click CAL to ensure the input is calibrated correctly in Genesis. Start with the Red Drive at the 12 o’clock position, back it off for cleaner console tone or increase it for more colour, density and harmonic weight.
For a full console workflow, place individual channel emulations across tracks, use a Group profile on buses, then finish the mix through a True Stereo MasterBus profile.
