The USA FAST and USA SLOW emulations provide two core timing flavours, letting you choose between quicker control and a more relaxed compression response.

The BRITISH FAST and BRITISH SLOW emulations introduce an alternate feedback feel, giving you additional tonal variety and different compression movement across sources.

The FAST DRIVEN and 150 FA FR SMASH emulations push further into heavier colour, stronger attitude, and more obvious tube compression character.

A Brief History

Modern boutique tube compressors of this type grew out of a deep appreciation for classic broadcast and recording limiters from the valve era. Designers often drew inspiration from several earlier compressor topologies at once, combining elements of older American and British tube circuits into new units that offered vintage weight with more flexibility for modern studio work.

One well-known design in this lineage combined ideas associated with British-modified Altec-style front-end behaviour and larger tube output stages inspired by classic American limiter designs. That approach produced compressors known for thick midrange, solid low-end control, and a rare ability to add glue and colour without collapsing transients.

That is why compressors in this family became so valued. They could sound bold and unmistakably tube-driven, but still remain musical on vocals, bass, guitars, drums, and even stereo bus duties. The Bee Gee’s 2 Tube Compressor Emulations carry that same philosophy into Genesis with a range of strong, mix-ready compression behaviours.

How to Use It in Genesis

Click CAL to ensure the input is calibrated correctly in Genesis. Start with the Red Drive at the -24 (fully Left Position), increase the drive for more compression and character.
