The Hard and Soft variants give you different compression feel and transient behaviour, ranging from firmer control through to a more yielding and musical response.

The faster attack and release combinations are useful for tighter grip, transient management, and more obvious compression energy.

The slower settings are better suited to fuller bus movement, lower-end weight, and more relaxed tube bloom.

The KC Fav setting provides a particularly musical middle ground for this US mixer's master bus work and broader programme material.

A Brief History

Rather than creating exaggerated pumping or harsh edge, the goal was to produce a compressor that behaved with the musical smoothness of classic tube designs while adding the precision expected in modern high-end studios.
