The German Mashine Multi Compressor Emulations pack pays homage to the behaviour of a highly flexible mastering and bus compressor known for combining analogue Vari-Mu tone with unusually wide program control.

This is not a one-flavour compressor pack. It is a collection built around multiple compression personalities, from smooth optical-style levelling and classic tube movement to faster, firmer bus control and more complex multi-stage behaviour.

Now it lives inside Genesis.

Modelled at 48kHz using our latest HQ Version 2.0 technology, this pack captures the density, timing behaviour, harmonic response, and true analog compression curves that make this compressor so useful across mix bus duties, drum work, vocals, and finishing chains.

The hardware behind this pack comes from the modern German mastering tradition, where precision engineering is paired with a strong respect for analogue musicality.

The original unit was developed as a remote-controllable Vari-Mu mastering and bus compressor, designed to move beyond the idea that one compressor must have only one character. Officially, it was presented as a full analogue Vari-Mu design with a DSP-controlled side-chain and a wide range of compression programs, allowing it to move between softer tube behaviour, optical-style control, VCA-like discipline, and more specialised responses.

It emerged in the mid-2010s as a more ambitious follow-on to earlier tube compression work from the same manufacturer, with a clear emphasis on mastering flexibility, stereo bus polish, and recall-friendly workflow.

That combination of analogue tone, programmable behaviour, and mix-ready versatility is exactly what makes it such an interesting unit to emulate.
