Developed by EMI in the 1950s, this preamp was a central component of the iconic console — the same console used to track The Beatles, early Pink Floyd, and countless other Abbey Road legends. Its all-tube, transformer-balanced signal path delivered a unique sonic fingerprint: bold, warm, and full of vintage musicality.

With limited units ever made and fewer still in working order, the preamp remains one of the most sought-after studio preamps in history. We emulated the real unit’s tone across multiple gain settings and harmonics to give you its full range — right inside Genesis.
