The AnalogX MP7073 pack brings a modern high-end Class A tube preamp and DI design into the Genesis ecosystem. This is not a vintage clone chasing nostalgia. It is a precision-built contemporary tube circuit designed for weight, depth, and controlled harmonic saturation.

At its core is a fully discrete signal path driven by a 12AX7 vacuum tube, delivering rich harmonic content while maintaining clarity and punch. Whether used clean, gently driven, or pushed into musical saturation, the MP7073 adds dimension and energy to anything you run through it.

Vocals gain body and presence. Bass becomes solid and authoritative. Synths and drums take on density without losing transient detail.

A Brief History

The MP7073 is based on a modern Class A line and instrument preamplifier design created for engineers who wanted real tube saturation without vintage instability or excessive coloration. the MP7073 was designed specifically for the engineers at Prime Studios in Austria where the brief was to create something modern with high headroom but with a beautiful vintage tube vibe when pushed.

Built around a discrete circuit topology and a carefully selected 12AX7 vacuum tube, the hardware was designed to deliver controlled harmonic density rather than exaggerated distortion. Features such as switchable distortion modes, dual input architecture, and flexible routing made it equally at home in tracking rooms and hybrid studios.

The op-amp stage was designed by Charly Bohaimid, with a focus on transparency, headroom, and musical response under drive.

This is a preamp built for engineers who want tone that works in real sessions, not just on spec sheets.

How to Use It

Tracking
Use the preamp emulations at -18 input with red drive at unity and input led showing green at the sweet spot in Genesis. For authentic gain staging and natural tube behaviour - or pull back on the red drive for less saturation and a cleaner class A sound.

Mixing
Insert the line emulations on stems or groups to add density, warmth, and subtle saturation without altering balance.

Sound Design
Push the input and drive harder to access rich tube harmonics and controlled distortion, use both pre and post EQ emphasis to shape the tone and utilise the wet/dry in Genesis to create fantastic parallel processed tracks.
