This pack is simple by design, giving you two highly usable voicings of the preamp: one cleaner and sweeter, the other more driven and harmonically assertive. Together, they cover a wide range of front-end enhancement duties, from subtle polish to stronger analog colour.

This pack includes two HQ 2 emulations built from the preamp’s sweet and driven tonal states.

The Sweet emulation provides the more open and balanced side of the preamp, ideal when you want analog warmth, low-end support, and clear musical enhancement without excessive drive.

The Gnarly emulation pushes the hardware further into harmonic richness and stronger transformer colour, making it especially useful on guitars, bass, drums, synths, and any source that benefits from a more assertive analog edge.

Together, these emulations give you both restraint and attitude from the same preamp platform.

A Brief History

The GTQ line came from a modern British effort to carry forward the sound and design values of classic Class A console preamps while making them more practical for contemporary studio use. According to the manufacturer’s own background material and independent reviews, the design was created by an engineer with direct roots in the original British console era, with the goal of building something influenced by that heritage but not simply copying it.

That is part of what made the GTQ approach so appealing. It kept the balanced transformer input and output structure, high-gain Class A topology, and presented it in a more compact modern format aimed at real working studios.

The result was a preamp family respected for offering vintage-style weight and harmonic authority with modern practicality. The GTQ Aura Preamp Emulations preserve that same idea in Genesis: classic British influence, but built for present-day production.

How to Use It in Genesis

Click CAL to ensure the input is calibrated correctly in Genesis. Start with the Red Drive at the 12 o'clock position, back it off for cleaner tone or increase it for more drive and harmonic colour.
